Linkix Pro Documents
Version 1.0
From installation to your first short link, branded QR code, and bio page. Follow each workflow with clear instructions and real screenshots.
Start with installation →Start here
Create useful links on your own WordPress site, route visitors to the right destination, and turn those links into shareable QR codes.
This guide covers Linkix Pro 1.0.10. The document itself is version 1.0. Screenshots come from the ARN Smart demo workspace; the activation image is a local rendering of the 1.0.10 screen. Older demo menus may read ARN Smart Linkix; the current menu is ARN Linkix.
Use the left-hand search to find a feature, click any screenshot to enlarge it, or choose Print / PDF to save a printable copy. On a phone, tap Contents.
Install Linkix Pro
Get the Pro ZIP
Download your Linkix Pro installation ZIP from the ARN Smart delivery or account area. Keep it zipped. This guide uses the Pro package, which includes licensed features.
Upload in WordPress
Sign in as an administrator. Open Plugins → Add Plugin → Upload Plugin, select the Pro ZIP, and choose Install Now.
Activate the plugin
Choose Activate Plugin. Find ARN Smart Linkix in your plugin list and open ARN Linkix from the admin menu. Plugin activation and Pro license activation are separate steps.
Activate your Pro license
Open License
After installation, the license screen may open automatically. Otherwise use the Linkix License entry or Settings → License, depending on the installed interface.
Enter your ARNA activation code
Copy the one-time ARNA-… code from your ARN Smart account or activation email. Paste it into ARNA activation code and choose Activate. Use a code issued for this product and this installation.
Check the connection
Confirm the status becomes Active, then check the domain and end date. The active screen shows a masked license key, verification status, last server check, and last problem. Open the workspace once activation succeeds.
An existing signed approval can keep Pro available during a temporary licensing-server outage, for up to 24 hours when an offline approval exists. An inactive license does not remove your existing site content; Pro tools require active access.
Find your way around
The Dashboard is your starting point. It summarizes links, redirects, QR assets, bio pages, and recent activity.
| Open | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Short Links | A short, shareable URL pointing to a destination. |
| Redirects | A route from an old or campaign path, with optional device, schedule, or rotation rules. |
| Permalinks | A custom public path for an existing WordPress object. |
| QR Studio | Standalone QR assets and branded printable templates. |
| Smart Apps | Links that try a mobile app and fall back to a web destination. |
| Bio Pages | A branded page containing multiple links or a splash destination. |
| URL Health / Canonical | URL conflicts, target reachability, and primary-URL policy. |
| Analytics | Click activity and source/device summaries. |
Some tools are in the WordPress sidebar rather than the top navigation. If a module is missing, an administrator should review Settings → General → Module control.
Create your first short link
Choose a short slug
Open Short Links. In Short Slug, enter a memorable value such as summer-menu. Use a unique slug that does not compete with an existing route.
Enter the destination
Set Target URL to the complete destination, for example https://example.com/menu/. Keep Status set to Active. The read-only Type identifies a manual link.
Save and test the public URL
Choose Add short link. Find the record in Shortlink records, then use Copy or Open. Share the URL displayed in the row, rather than manually guessing its path. With the default prefix s, an example URL is https://example.com/s/summer-menu/.
Change or pause the destination
Use Edit on a record, change the target or status, and choose Update short link. Set the status to Disabled to pause it. Check the public link again after saving.
Create and schedule redirects
Use a redirect when visitors should leave a source path and arrive at a different URL.
Define the source and target
Open Redirects. Enter the local Source Path and the complete Target URL. A campaign path such as summer-sale is easier to review than a long destination address.
Choose the redirect type
Select 301 Permanent for an intentional permanent move. Select 302 Temporary for a temporary campaign or changing destination. Set Status to Active, then choose Add redirect.
| Advanced rule | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Device | Enable Device and provide the relevant mobile, iOS, or Android destinations. Keep the main target as a fallback. Test on each device you intend to support. |
| Schedule | Enable Schedule, enter Start Date and End Date, and set a Fallback URL for visits outside the campaign window. |
| Rotation | Enable Rotation and enter the available destination targets and weights shown in the form. Review the split before saving. |
Use the dates presented by the installed interface and confirm the site timezone in WordPress Settings → General. Test before the window, during it, and after it. A future schedule is not a substitute for checking the fallback.
Set a custom permalink
Identify the content
Open the existing post, page, or supported object. Its editor URL includes the numerical object ID, for example post=123. Note the ID and its object type.
Map the new path
Open Permalinks. Enter Object ID, Object Type such as post or page, and a unique Custom Path such as guides/visitor-info. Do not paste a full domain into the path field.
Save and inspect the result
Optionally provide a Canonical URL when you have a deliberate primary destination. Choose Add permalink. Check the saved record and open the new path to confirm it resolves to the intended content.
Create and brand QR codes
Enter what the QR should encode
Open QR Studio. Add an internal Label, choose a Size, and enter Text for scan. In Content to encode, paste the full URL or the plain text you want the QR to contain.
Generate and use the asset
Choose Create QR code. The item appears in Saved custom QR codes. Use its available download, sharing, or print controls. SVG and PNG assets are created when the server supports the required output. A standalone QR does not create a short-link record.
Customize the printed design
Open QR Template Editor, choose a template, and select Edit template. Adjust brand name, subtitle, footer, font sizes, colors, and alignment. Drag layout boxes on the live preview or edit their position fields.
Save and verify the final QR
Choose Save template editor. Use Set as default when you want the template used by default. Generate or inspect the final asset and scan it with at least one real phone before sharing or printing.
Create a Smart App Link
Choose a preset
Open Smart App Links or Smart Apps. Select a preset such as Instagram, WhatsApp, YouTube, Google Maps, Phone, or Email. The form changes to request the details that preset needs.
Supply the requested details
Add a useful Title. For Instagram, enter only the username, without a full profile URL. Follow the helper text for other presets. The generated slug starts with lnkx_; you can customize its ending.
Save and test both destinations
Choose the icon color mode and select Save Smart App Link. Use the saved Library item to copy or open its public URL. Test on mobile with the app installed, on mobile without it, and on desktop.
Build a bio or splash page
Set the page identity
Open Bio Pages → General. Select Bio Page, then enter a title, unique slug, description, intro text, and image/logo URL. You can also choose an image from the Media Library.
Add buttons and social profiles
Open Buttons & Social. Add one item per line in the format Label | URL. For example: Our menu | https://example.com/menu/. Social links use Platform | URL, such as Instagram | https://instagram.com/example.
Style and save the page
Use Visual Settings to adjust the available design controls. Check the phone preview, choose Save Bio Page, and use the Library to find the saved page. Open its public URL and test every button.
Use a splash page when needed
Choose Splash Page as the page type and configure the fields under Splash. Check the destination and transition behavior using the splash preview before saving. A bio page collects several links; a splash page introduces a destination.
Check URL health and canonical policy
Check that your links resolve correctly and that the primary URL represents the intended content.
Run the relevant check
Open URL Health. Choose Run URL Health to review public URL structure and conflicts, or Run Broken Link Check to check redirect targets. Wait for the operation to finish and inspect the updated scan time.
Review the results
Use All, Broken, or Healthy in Broken Link Results. Open Latest snapshot to inspect URL-scan results. Review conflicting routes and correct the relevant target or custom path. A long but valid URL is different from a real routing conflict.
Review the primary-URL policy
Open Canonical to see the current policy and a parameter-cleanup example. In Settings → Routing & canonical, an administrator can choose whether to prefer custom permalinks, strip tracking parameters, preserve functional parameters, and redirect legacy requests.
Tracking values such as utm_source can be removed from canonical output while functional values such as language or sorting remain. Short links and redirect source paths are routing entries rather than canonical targets.
Read your analytics
Open Analytics after your public links receive visits. Review Total Events, Total Clicks, Unique Clicks, top short links, top redirects, recent activity, source/device breakdowns, and the last 14 days.
Enable the events you need
In Settings → Analytics, an administrator can enable the analytics module and choose which events to collect, including short-link hits, redirect hits, and source/device classification.
Check a real public visit
Open a saved public Linkix URL, reach its destination, then revisit the report. Keep collection enabled for the route type you are testing. An empty demo or a newly installed site will have no records until events are recorded.
Choose retention deliberately
Review Retention days and Keep raw event logs. Store only the detail you need for your site’s reporting practices. These reports describe route activity; they do not measure search rankings or search visibility.
Settings, backup, and updates
Open Settings as a site administrator. The public demo role may not expose this screen. The following controls are verified against Pro 1.0.10.
| Tab | What to review |
|---|---|
| General | Shortlink prefix and Module control. After changing the prefix, save WordPress Settings → Permalinks once to refresh routing rules. |
| QR & branding | Enable QR output, automatic generation, default size/format, and print views. Design and typography are edited in QR Studio → Template Editor. |
| Routing & canonical | Primary URLs, tracking/functional parameter lists, unknown-parameter behavior, and shortlink query pass-through. |
| Analytics | Event collection, classifications, raw logs, and retention days. |
| Language | Information about automatically loaded translation files. |
| Maintenance | Uninstall cleanup and Import / Export settings. |
| License | Activation and connection management. |
After changing settings, choose Save Settings and check for the saved confirmation. Test the relevant public link after any routing change.
Export or import settings
Under Maintenance, select the sections to export and choose Export selected settings. To import, choose a previously exported JSON file, select the sections to apply, and choose Import selected settings. Export the current configuration before importing a different one.
Update Pro
Back up the site, confirm your license connection, and apply an available update from WordPress Plugins or Dashboard → Updates. After updating, check a short link, a redirect, a QR download, and a bio page. For multisite, ask the network administrator to manage plugin updates.
Keep uninstall cleanup off unless you intend removal
Normal deactivation keeps Linkix data. The Enable cleanup on uninstall option runs when the plugin is deleted; Also delete generated QR files can remove QR assets as well. Back up before deliberate removal.
Troubleshooting and support
I cannot open Settings or License.
Sign in with an administrator account. The demo role has restricted settings access. If the product workspace is locked, review the license screen and any integrity message before trying again.
A short link opens a 404 page.
Check that the record is Active and that you copied the exact public URL from its row. Confirm the prefix. If the prefix changed, save WordPress Settings → Permalinks once. Clear relevant caches and retest.
A redirect goes to the wrong destination.
Check the source, target, status, schedule, device rules, and fallback. Test in a private browser window. Review competing routes in URL Health and remove a loop or conflicting path.
The QR scans but opens an old URL.
Check the content encoded in that asset. A standalone QR pointing directly to an external address keeps that address. If it encodes a Linkix short URL, edit the saved short-link target and retest the same QR.
There are no analytics records.
Check the analytics module and event toggles, then visit an Active public link. Reports describe recorded traffic rather than previously untracked visits. An empty demo is expected before records and visits exist.
ARNA activation fails or the license becomes inactive.
Check the exact site address, product, and whether the one-time code was already used. Obtain a fresh code when required. Confirm that your server can reach the licensing service. Review Last problem and use Check now after resolving the issue.
I see an integrity or package warning after updating.
Keep the message and installed version. Ask your administrator to reinstall the official matching Pro package and confirm that the files were fully uploaded. Do not edit protected plugin files to bypass the warning.
Prepare a useful support request
Provide your Linkix version, WordPress/PHP versions, the affected feature, steps to reproduce, expected result, actual result, and a screenshot with activation codes or keys hidden. Include a public affected URL when appropriate. Use the support route in your ARN Smart account or start at arnsmart.com.
